Ever since measures to curb the spread of the coronavirus were put in place, people in poverty have been hit hard. It is all hands on deck at many poverty projects. We want to give these projects extra emergency support so that they can continue their work for as long as necessary!
Since the stricter measures to combat the spread of the coronavirus, it is all hands on deck at the many hundreds of local poverty projects and associations in Flanders and Brussels. We receive signals from volunteer groups who are confronted with a lot of additional costs.
Group activities are canceled, but people are not left behind. Volunteers organize themselves through call rounds and visits. Groups make their own posters and flyers to inform people about the virus. And they need protective materials to protect themselves. All extra costs that are difficult to bear for these small organizations.
To support them, Welzijnszorg provides additional emergency support to 163 local projects, including food distribution actions, and projects that set up systems to keep in touch with everyone.
The multitude and diversity of projects once again shows how many people actively and often volunteer to support people in poverty.
With your donation we can continue to provide our emergency support. We need a total of 30,000 euros for this. We ensure that the funds collected are distributed among the organizations that apply for funding. This is how you help us help!
