Bbug is offering 4 Master Classes in 3D hosted by leading actors on the European Open Source scene.

It has been two years since the Belgian Blender User Group, a collective of passionate volunteers, started organising free monthly workshops and courses in Brussels on 3D, Blender ( and Open Source ( Open-source_software).

Our goals are to share knowledge, provide continuing education and moderately promote open source software. For the first time in Belgium, we have the opportunity to bring in four renowned international personalities to conduct four high-level training days. On this occasion, Brussels Point Culture ( is kindly making its premises available to host:

David Revoy (

An ambassador for Krita (, a Photoshop alternative whose popularity continues to grow. David has been both lecturer (Haute École Albert Jacquard, CGCookie, Blender Foundation), concept artist on Sintel and Tears of Steel and illustrator for numerous publishers. This artist, a regular award recipient, will talk about concept art, 2D, digital painting on Krita and the new functionalities of the latest version of the software that has just been released.

Sarah Laufer (

Sarah went to study 3D at Supinfocom Valenciennes, where she co-directed 8bits, a critically-acclaimed short film. She then returned to Costa Rica to found her own animation studio and regularly gives classes on 3D in Blender to young people from disadvantaged neighbourhoods in San Jose. We are taking advantage of the unique occasion of her return to the old continent to participate in the latest Open Movie from the Blender Foundation so as to offer her native country a Master Class in character animation.

François Gastaldo (

A specialist in optics and an outstanding expert with numerous tools, François specialises in the creation of 3D materials. Also a lecturer and conference speaker, we have met him on numerous occasions at the Blender Conference, where he conveyed to us his passion for OSL (Open Shading Language) ( He immediately accepted our invitation to come and reveal his secrets.

François Grassard (

27 février 2016 Like David, he gradually decided to incorporate Open Source into the curriculum for his classes and into his professional environment. A never-ending source of top-quality tutorials, he is behind Université Paris-8’s move to open source solutions such as Krita, Blender and Natron. The ultimate generalist and fervent champion and user of Natron and Blender, he specialises in camera tracking, 3D integration and particle systems.
